For the third consecutive week, a Syracuse Orange women’s basketball player has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Week. Kamilla Cardoso was honored for a second-straight time after averaging 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.5 blocks in two Syracuse wins. In total, she sunk 70.6 percent of her shots from the field last week.
In the Orange’s first game of the week, Cardoso recorded 11 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks in the team’s win over Pitt.
On Sunday, the freshman contributed a near-triple double with 18 points, a career-high nine blocks, and seven rebounds in Syracuse’s win over Notre Dame.
