SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange are No. 20 in the latest College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings, which were released Tuesday night on ESPN.
Following their 36-3 loss to No. 3 Notre Dame, Syracuse fell eight spots, but remains the second-highest ranked Atlantic Coast Conference team behind No. 2 Clemson.
The Orange, who are 8-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play under third-year head coach Dino Babers, have been in all four editions of the CFP rankings. Syracuse debuted at No. 19 on Oct. 30 before eventually climbing to No. 12 ahead of last week's meeting with the Fighting Irish.
