Syracuse kicker Cole Murphy believes a lesson from Wii Golf will get him right

Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse football team doesn't have a kicking instructor on its staff, so when Cole Murphy returned to campus after making just one of three field goal attempts against UConn, he was on his own trying figuring out where things went wrong.

Head coach Dino Babers said Murphy slipped on a 33-yard try that hooked to the left, but that wasn't entirely true. Murphy had missed a second field goal and hooked a pair of kickoffs out of bounds as well.

Murphy concluded he was trying to overpower the ball, kicking too hard and throwing his mechanics out of whack.
