With a win over Clemson on Saturday, this was a great weekend for Syracuse football fans, even with the gut-wrenching injury to Steve Angeli. Things got even better on Sunday with a few former Syracuse players making an impact. Unfortunately, Ifeatu Melifonwu missed this week with an injury and Garrett Williams went on IR. However, there were other former Orange taking the field and making a difference.
Andre Szmyt, Browns
Szmyt took a lot of the blame for Cleveland’s Week 1 loss, but he got some redemption this week. The former Lou Groza winner nailed a 55-yard field goal at the buzzer, giving the Browns a 13-10 upset over the Packers.
