Syracuse, N.Y. -- When Zaire Franklin saw that his name wasn't included on the NFL Scouting Combine invitational list, he felt motivated.
When the former Syracuse linebacker saw Steve Ishmael's name absent, he was shocked.
"I was crazy surprised Steve didn't go," Franklin said at SU's Pro Day on Monday. "I saw receivers that only had 20 catches this year and Steve went up top on everybody.
"But Steve got paid today. That's all that matters."
Ishmael, SU's all-time leading receiver, was named to nine All-American teams after his senior season, including first-team honors from SB Nation.
