Syracuse Football: Terrel Hunt's Appeal for a Sixth Year Denied by NCAA

Former Syracuse Orange quarterback Terrel Hunt's collegiate career is over. As he confirmed with the Daily Orange's Sam Blum, the NCAA has denied his appeal for a sixth year.

Hunt tore his ACL in the opener against Rhode Island in 2015 -- just 11 months after missing the remainder of the 2014 season for a fractured fibula. His case to the NCAA was that due to a redshirt, and those two injuries, he'd really only had one year to play out of his four years of eligibility.

Back in December, he was very open about his desire to get a sixth season, and even solicited assistant from ESPN's Jay Bilas on the matter.
