Syracuse football has been quiet on the recruiting front so far this summer. They haven’t hauled in a commitment since Marlowe Wax Jr. back in mid-April.
The Orange have been recruiting Canadian QB Christian Veilleux aggressively during recent weeks but have yet to secure his commitment.
Just this past week, New Jersey linebacker Tirek Austin-Cave, announced his “top nine” schools. Syracuse made the cut, along with the likes of Miami, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kentucky, Pitt, Rutgers, Temple, and West Virginia.
Austin-Cave has good size at 6-foot-1 and 203-pounds. He is a native of Camden, New Jersey, the same hometown as former Cuse standout linebacker, Dyshawn Davis.
