Syracuse Football: Steve Ishmael gets called up by Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have seemingly been snake bitten this year as it pertains to all the injuries they’ve suffered this year. Bittersweet circumstances have provided an opportunity of a lifetime for former Syracuse football wide receiver Steve Ishmael.

Ishmael had spent the entire season on the Colts practice squad after missing out on the initial 53 man roster back in early September. Steve went undrafted in April and signed on with the Colts as a priority free agent out of Syracuse.

Ishmael had an up and down career with the Syracuse Orange which featured him nearly quitting football to seeing him become the program’s all time leading yardage leader (surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison) in his final season.
