Bronx, N.Y. -- Syracuse football will be without two defensive starters when the 12th-ranked Orange takes on No. 3 Notre Dame in Yankee Stadium on Saturday.
Redshirt senior nickelback/free safety Antwan Cordy (personal situation) and redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Josh Black (undisclosed injury) did not make the trip from Central New York, according to SU Athletics.
Cordy, an experienced cover man, projects to be replaced in the nickel package by true freshman Trill Williams. Williams, a Yonkers native, started at field corner last week and could contribute at both positions against the Fighting Irish with friends and family looking on.
