Our football guru is rocking out as he previews the Syracuse football homecoming game against Boston College.
On a nice autumn highway, it’s Syracuse football day before Halloween
Warm smell of apples, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw the Dome with Carrier’s name
My heart grew heavy and my Orange grew dim
I had to stop for the game
I heard Boston College was here
And I was thinking to myself
“This could be Heaven or this could be hell”
Then I walked onto campus and the Ernie Davis statue showed me the way
There were voices headed that direction
I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Syracuse football season
Such a lovely place…So many Orange faces
Plenty of room for fans to join in
Any time of year especially the fall season

The Eagles expectations twisted, some say good some say bad
They got a lot of pretty good players some call ironclad
Phil Jurkovec will lead at quarterback, Jaiden Lars Woodbey transfers to secondary
Coach Jeff Hafley returns as head coach, Travis Levy will get a good chunk of carries
So I’ll call up the Captains
Please bring me some wins
