Syracuse football reportedly hires former Onondaga Central High School running back Mike Hart as running backs coach

Syracuse has hired Western Michigan running backs coach Mike Hart to fill the same position at SU, Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans reported. Hart is now the seventh assistant on head coach Dino Babers’ staff.

Hart played at nearby Onondaga Central High School, where he once held the national career record for rushing touchdowns with 204. He is the all-time leading rusher at Michigan, where he played collegiately. At Michigan, Hart also finished fifth in Heisman Trophy voting in 2006, and he made the coaches’ and media’s All-Big Ten Conference first team in 2004 and 2006. Hart also played professionally for three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.
