Western Massachusetts has produced the first committed member of the Syracuse Orange football, Class of 2021. Terry Lockett, a defensive lineman out of Springfield Central High school has become the first verbal commit of the new cycle for Dino Babers and his staff.
The 6-foot-1, 255 pound defensive tackle was also offered by the Michigan Wolverines, UMass Minutemen and the Buffalo Bulls. Lockett is a three-star prospect all around and showed versatility, lining up anywhere from a three technique out to a nine in his highlight film. Where he will fit in with the new 3-3-5 system is to be seen, but that versatility definitely helps.
