Syracuse, N.Y. -- Class of 2018 running back Jarveon Howard committed to Syracuse football during his official visit two weekends ago, he said in a phone interview on Monday.
Howard, an East Marion (Columbia, Miss.) High School senior, took one additional visit to South Alabama but has since closed his recruitment. He'll sign a binding agreement with the Orange on National Signing Day next Wednesday.
"It was hard (initially) to actually take the offer seriously because it was so far away until I went to go see the great things they had to offer me themselves," Howard said.
