It had been more than a week since the Syracuse Orange football team landed a 2021 commit. However, right before everyone takes off for the long weekend, the “drought” appears to be over. Three-star defensive end Jatius Geer announced his commitment to SU on Thursday.
Geer, from Honea Path, S.C. (Belton-Honea Path High School) is a big player at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds already. He’s a capable edge rusher and given his length, could potentially be employed in a hybrid end/linebacker role once he gets to Syracuse given the nature of this new 3-3-5 scheme.
