Syracuse football defense dominates scrimmage, picks off 6 passes

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football's defense dominated its second intrasquad scrimmage Saturday, recording six interceptions on the day, including three that went for scores.

Afterward, coach Dino Babers told Cuse.com it was the most one-sided defensive effort he has seen in a long time.

"The defense absolutely dominated the scrimmage," Babers said. "It was the most defensive-oriented scrimmage that I have ever been a part of."

Defensive backs Carl Jones, Jordan Martin and Ifeatu Melifonwu each returned an interception for a touchdown.

Linebacker Kielan Whitner intercepted a pass in the end zone, and senior linebacker Parris Bennett intercepted one near the goal line.
