Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse basketball recruit Joe Girard III led Glens Falls High School to a win over Beekmantown in the Class B football quarterfinals on Friday night.
Glens Falls (9-2) defeated Beekmantown 21-7 in a Class B quarterfinal played at Shenendehowa High School.
Girard completed 21 of 35 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 88 yards.
Girard, a 6-foot-2 guard, committed to play basketball at Syracuse last month. He chose the Orange out of a final list of schools that included Boston College, Notre Dame, Michigan, Duke and Penn State.
