Coaches have used a variety of tactics to motivate their players over the years.
On Saturday night Syracuse basketball freshman Quincy Guerrier revealed that Jim Boeheim often pokes and prods him about the NBA to get him revved up:
“Sometimes coach Boeheim tells me to stop thinking about the NBA even if I’m not thinking about it. I’m thinking about winning games. So he has used that since it came out.”
Prior to the season starting Guerrier appeared in a prominent 2020 NBA Mock Draft via Jeff Goodman of Stadium as a first-round draft choice.
