Back in 2017, Syracuse basketball head coach Jim Boeheim, who is never shy when it comes to speaking his mind, created some havoc when he said that Greensboro, N.C., provided “no value” in serving as the host city of the ACC Tournament.
That, naturally, offended public officials, residents and others in that community, with the minor-league baseball team, the Greensboro Grasshoppers, even holding a “Jim Boeheim (No) Value Night” shortly thereafter.
I, for one, love Boeheim, in part because I’m a ‘Cuse alum and a die-hard hoops fanatic. I also appreciate his brutal honesty and candidness.
