Pittsburgh, Pa. — Senior Syracuse Orange center Paschal Chukwu came roaring out of the gate Saturday against Pittsburgh. The 7-foot-2 big man scored Syracuse’s first bucket of the game and had 4 points and 3 rebounds before the first media timeout.
Minutes later he finished with a lay-up inside off of a feed from Tyus Battle. When Pittsburgh went to a 2-3 zone shortly thereafter, Battle whipped a pass into Marek Dolezaj just below the free throw line and without hesitation, Dolezaj soft touched a lob to Chukwu who threw it down with alacrity.
