Prior to Friday night’s highly anticipated matchup between the No. 6 TCU Horned Frogs and No. 11 Syracuse, many were quick to dismiss the Orange’s chances of making the round of 32 and called their magical 2016 Final Four run a fluke.
However, what many fail to realize, is that experience and heart often result in plenty of upsets during March Madness and Syracuse epitomized that on Friday night.
Throughout the season, Jim Boeheim’s illustrious 2-3 zone was often blamed for the Orange’s lack of success. However, on a day where No. 1 Virginia and No. 4 Wichita State each gave up 74 or more points, and were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament far earlier than most anticipated, the Syracuse Orange took down TCU, and are still dancing.
