Syracuse 3, Fairfield 0: Brosnan earns record fifth shutout of the season in win

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan secured her fifth shutout of the season as the Syracuse Orange women’s soccer team (6-1-1) earned their sixth win of the year on the road in Fairfield, Connecticut yesterday afternoon.

Senior forward Stephanie Skilton scored the first of her team’s three goals in the 33rd minute of play. After a penalty was called on the Stags (1-7-0), freshman defender took the free kick, passed it to junior forward Eva Gordon who passed it backwards to Skilton.

The Orange scored again four minutes later off of the boot of junior defender Alana O’Neill, collecting herself just enough to get the ball past Fairfield goalkeeper Jenna Pike off of a scrum in front of the net.
