A year ago we were watching the final race in the Syracuse Orange career of Justyn Knight the best men’s distance runner in Syracuse history. Last night it was the final race of Paige Stoner the best women’s distance runner in Syracuse history.
Competing in her third straight NCAA Outdoor Championships Stoner decided to step up to the 10,000m this season. She entered the competition with the second fastest time in the country this season and was one of the favorites. Joining her in the final was sophomore Laura Dickinson who was making her first NCAA appearance.
