PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Syracuse beat Pittsburgh 7-6 on penalty kicks Wednesday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field after the teams finished 1-1 through two overtimes. The win sends the Orange to California to face No. 12 Stanford.
Bryson Rodriguez put Syracuse ahead in the 16th minute, finishing off an assist from Sachiel Ming. Pitt answered in the 77th minute when Mamadou Tall scored, assisted by Miguel Bertran and Niklas Sørensen. Neither side could break the tie in regulation or the two overtime periods, sending the match to a shootout.
In the shootout, Syracuse converted seven of its eight attempts, with Kameron Kist, Kristjan Fortier, Gabriel Oksanen, Jackson Miller, Landon Darko, Dario White and Dakota Jonke all scoring.
