SYRACUSE, N.Y. One of the greatest rivalries in college basketball added another chapter on Saturday night as Syracuse (7-2, 1-1) secured victory against Georgetown (3-8, 1-5) in the Carrier Dome, 74-69.

Four Syracuse players scored in double-figures, with Buddy Boeheim leading all scorers with 21 points and Joseph Girard III following closely behind with 18 of his own. Quincy Guerrier (12) and Marek Dolezaj (11) also finished with 10+ points.

With Georgetown gaining ground on the Orange after cutting the Syracuse lead to five with three minutes to play, Alan Griffin found his way to the hoop for a layup and Girard III buried a long two-pointer to put the Orange up, 72-65, with just over a minute left on the clock.
