GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sixth-seeded Syracuse decisively defeated #14 North Carolina, 81-53, Wednesday night at Greensboro Coliseum in the second round of the ACC Tournament. The win snapped a nine-game losing streak for the Orange to the Tar Heels dating back to January 11, 2014.
Syracuse advances to the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament and will take on #3 Louisville tomorrow at 9 p.m.
Elijah Hughes' 27 points were the most by any player, as he went 9-for-20 from the field and knocked down four 3-balls. Bourama Sidibe posted his fifth double-double of the season and his third in his last five games with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
