Syracuse linebacker Mikel Jones has been named ACC Linebacker of the Week after his 11 tackles against Rutgers.
Jones led the 'Cuse defense with 11 stops and a career-best 2.5 tackles for loss. In total, Syracuse had 13 tackles for loss, a mark that ranks as the fourth-highest single-game total to date this season, and the most that any team has posted against a power five opponent.
Jones currently ranks ninth nationally with 11.0 tackles per game after leading the Orange in the category last season as well. He is on the Dick Butkus Award Watch List this season as one of the nation's top linebackers.
