John Gillon transferring to Syracuse Orange from Colorado State Rams

"I chose them because I felt like Syracuse checks all the boxes for someone who wants a great basketball career," Gillon said.

Gillon, a 6-foot point guard, took a visit to the Syracuse campus this weekend. Texas A&M and Oklahoma were his other finalists.

Gillon became one of the most sought-after, immediately-eligible transfers when it was announced last week that he was leaving the Rams. He averaged 13.2 points and 3.8 assists last season for Colorado State.

Jim Boeheim and Syracuse made it clear they were looking to add a point guard this spring.
