Jesse Edwards gave Syracuse a chance against Houston

The Syracuse Orange struggled from the start of their Sweet Sixteen game against the Houston Cougars. Trailing 12-5 after the first 7:30 of the game, Jim Boeheim turned to sophomore center Jesse Edwards. After Houston’s Tramon Mark hit a 3 to make it 15-5, the Orange went on a 15-8 run of their own to close to 23-20 with 2:20 to play in the half.

Edwards contributed three points, two rebounds and two blocks during his 10-minute stretch on the court. With him in the middle of the zone, Houston shot 4- 14 from the field and committed three turnovers.
