The Syracuse Orange track and field teams got their first individual title on Day One of the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships when Iliass Aouani took home the men’s 10k title. Aouani took control of the race after the 2k split and held the lead the rest of the way winning in a time of 29:01.13 which just missed the facility record. Aouani had finished 2nd in the 10k at last year’s ACC meet and this is his first ACC individual championship.
Joe Dragon closed strong in the final 1K to take 4th place in 29:51 with Kevin James finishing 9th in 30:16 and Dom Hockenbury 11th in 30:42.
