Hornets send Michael Carter-Williams to Greensboro G League team to rehab knees

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Charlotte Hornets have sent former Syracuse basketball point guard Michael Carter-Williams to their G League franchise as he continues to recover from a summer procedure on his knees.

Carter-Wiliams had platelet-rich plasma treatment during the offseason to help alleviate soreness in both knees. He has only recently returned to full-court practices and has not played in any of the Hornets' seven games this season. He needs to regain his conditioning and timing before returning to Charlotte.

The Hornets signed Carter-Williams to a 1-year, $2.7 million deal to back up Kemba Walker, one of the NBA's more dynamic young point guards.
