Former Syracuse soccer star goes No. 10 in MLS draft

The Chicago Fire traded for the 10th overall pick and used it to select Syracuse sophomore Mo Adams in the 2018 Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Friday.

It marks the second consecutive year that a member of the Orange has been selected in the top 10 and the fourth straight year that at least one has been taken in the first round.

Adams was a two-year starter for the Orange in the midfield. He earned all-Atlantic Coast Conference second team honors in 2017 after starting all 16 matches in which he played.

Adams was named to the Watch List for the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy, which goes to the top collegiate player in the nation.
