The New York Giants have placed backup quarterback Ryan Nassib on injured reserve. The team announced the move on Tuesday.
Nassib has had a recurring elbow injury this season according to the team’s injury report. The Giants also placed running back Shane Vereen on IR as well.
In a reactionary move the Giants signed linebacker Ishaq Williams off their practice squad, as well as running back George Winn.
The Giants must’ve been anticipating this move as they were one of only a handful of teams that carried three quarterbacks throughout the season.
With Nassib sidelined, Josh Johnson becomes Manning’s backup.
