Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Syracuse football defensive backs coach Fred Reed will be the new cornerbacks coach at Eastern Michigan, according to a report by Sports Illustrated.

Reed joined Scott Shafer's Syracuse staff before the 2013 season as its defensive backs coach.
He becomes the fifth former assistant to land at a new job since Shafer was fired Nov. 23 with one year left on his contract.
