Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Syracuse football players Riley Dixon and Shamarko Thomas will wear specially designed cleats in their NFL games this weekend to raise awareness for a charity that combats rare diseases.

The "My Cause My Cleats" campaign furthers the players' commitment to the Syracuse University chapter of Uplifting Athletes.

"I remember what being part of Uplifting Athletes was all about when I was at Syracuse. The rare disease cause was important to my teammates and important to me," Dixon said in a press release. "I want to let the world know in Week 13 what my cause is.
