There are a select few moments that stand out during the history of the Syracuse basketball program. Hakim Warrick blocking the shot of Kansas’ Michael Lee during the final seconds of the 2003 national championship game is certainly one of those moments.
Warrick was only sophomore when he made that play and he went on to spend two more seasons with the Orange, including the 2004-05 season when he was the Big East Player of the Year and a First-Team All-American.
After his career at Syracuse, Warrick was selected in the first round of the 2005 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.
