Shortly after National Signing Day, the Syracuse Orange received some great news that they’d also landed former Coastal Carolina Chanticleers defensive end Jeffrey Gunter. The Durham, N.C. native had to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules in 2019, but then join the active lineup with two years of eligibility left.
Unfortunately that won’t be happening now, per an announcement on his Twitter feed on Tuesday:
Gunter will be headed to the ACC Atlantic Division rival N.C. State Wolfpack instead, getting out of the financial aid package that he previously signed with Syracuse just a couple weeks ago.
