Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse University's plan to avoid moving basketball and football games during the Carrier Dome's upcoming renovation includes constructing the new fixed roof over the current one, according to Pete Sala, the university's vice president and chief facilities officer.
Sala provided some Carrier Dome updates as part of a campus engagement session on Tuesday. While Sala had said previously that Syracuse planned to avoid moving games, his comments on Tuesday provided an indication of how Syracuse expects that to be possible.
"Our goal is to build the new roof over the old roof and not move a football or basketball game," Sala said.
