With less than 50 seconds left, he engineered a thrilling game-winning drive that culminated with a near-perfect pass into the arms of Oronde Gadsden at the pylon with seven seconds remaining. The throw and catch lifted Syracuse to a 32-29 win over Purdue on Saturday to move the Orange to 3-0.
The start was the 12th of Shrader's Orange career – one full season of games for a team. The finish was his fourth game-winning or game-tying drive that he has led in the final minute of a game at Syracuse.
