FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – Syracuse senior linebacker Andrew Armstrong was one of the 86 FBS players named to the preseason watch list for the 2019 Wuerffel Trophy on Thursday, July 25. The Wuerffel Trophy is presented annually by the All Sports Association of Fort Walton Beach to the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.
A selected studies major in Syracuse's School of Education, Armstrong was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in high school and actively supports the Central New York chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
