The first AP Top 25 poll of the 2015-16 college basketball season was released on Monday, and Syracuse was nowhere to be found.
Eight ACC teams received votes in the poll but the Orange did not, an outlook that seems to fit with most national projections for Syracuse this season. Preseason polls are also notorious for relying heavily on the previous season's results, a process that doesn't favor Syracuse.
North Carolina is No. 1 overall in the poll with 35 of 65 first-place votes. Duke is fifth and Virginia is sixth, with one first-place vote.
