Syracuse, N.Y. — Once expected to debut in 2017, the ACC Network has been pushed back by executives at ESPN, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Ken Sugiura.

Segiura cited the words of Georgia Tech president G.P. Peterson, who made the statement during the Georgia Tech Athletic Association's quarterly board meeting. Discussions involving the channel, which would provide a revenue boost to teams in the ACC, have been going on for years.

Peterson reportedly told the Georgia Tech board that ESPN wanted the delay to ensure the channel would be immediately profitable and have appropriate distribution from the moment it debuted.
