Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse quarterback signee Rex Culpepper received the news that SU head coach Scott Shafer and his staff had been fired this morning. He spoke with SU offensive coordinator Tim Lester and Plant (Tampa, Fla.) High School coach Robert Weiner.
Like one of the Orange's other top Class of 2016 members, hybrid commit Moe Neal, Culpepper will wait and see how SU's new coaching staff shapes up, his father, Brad Culpepper, told Syracuse.com early Monday evening.
"He still loves Syracuse and thinks it's a good situation with regard to quarterback opportunity," Brad Culpepper said.
