Duncan Watmore has suffered another cruel injury blow, with the Sunderland forward set to miss the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old limped out of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Millwall with a knee problem and club medics suspect he has damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Watmore has only recently returned to action after ten months out with the same injury.
He is expected to undergo surgery later this week and faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
