David Moyes insists Jose Mourinho has to deliver Champions League football at Manchester United after defending his own record at Old Trafford.
The Sunderland manager countered claims his career has been in terminal decline since his nightmare 12 months at United saw him sacked as three years ago.
The 53-year-old is convinced his best is yet to come as he prepares to oversee a massive rebuilding job at the Championship-bound Wearside club, who are cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League after winning one of their last 15 games.

Moyes' record during his ill-fated spell as successor to Sir Alex Ferguson is comparable to that of Mourinho as the Portuguese approaches his first anniversary after replacing Louis van Gaal last summer.
