Sunderland FC news: Jordan Pickford out for six to eight weeks with knee injury, says David Moyes

Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is facing up to eight weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury, manager David Moyes has confirmed.

The 22-year-old has been in outstanding form for the the Black Cats this season since getting his first team chance following an injury to Vito Mannone in August.

His emergence has one of the few positives for Moyes, whose side are currently sitting third from bottom in the Premier League.

But the Sunderland boss now faces being without Pickford until at least the middle of February after he damaged knee ligaments in the Boxing Day defeat at Manchester United.
