Southampton 1-1 Sunderland: David Moyes refuses to deny interest in Joe Hart after Jordan Pickford error costs Black Cats first win in August since 2010

David Moyes and Claude Puel are both waiting for their first Premier League victories in charge of new clubs after Southampton and Sunderland shared the points at St Mary's Stadium.

Moyes had seemed set to break his duck when a dour game exploded into life with ten minutes to play. Saints captain Jose Fonte upended Jermain Defoe in the box and the former Spurs striker dusted himself down to send his spot kick high into Fraser Forster's net.

But Southampton responded through the unlikely figure of Jay Rodriguez. Linked with a loan move away from the south coast, Rodriguez replaced Charlie Austin with 16 minutes to play and wasted little time in making his mark.
