Preston North End have held talks with Alex Neil as they consider candidates to succeed Simon Grayson.
Neil had his contract terminated at Norwich City in March with the club eighth in the Championship.
He guided Norwich to promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in May 2015.
Fleetwood Town manager Uwe Rosler is another name to have been considered at Preston.
