Mick McCarthy set to replace sacked Neil Harris as Cardiff City boss with the Bluebirds convinced by his track record in the Championship

Mick McCarthy is set to replace Neil Harris as manager of Cardiff City.

McCarthy was sacked as manager of Cypriot side APOEL at the start of January after just two months in the job but the 61-year old has vast experience in the Championship having previously won promotion with Sunderland and Wolves.

Cardiff have lost seven out of their last eight games in all competitions and face a tough task to push themselves back into the promotion chase as they languish in 15th place in the Championship table.
