Manchester City new boy Benjamin Mendy sealed a £52million move to the Premier League on Monday, but it could have all been very different for the Frenchman.
In putting pen to paper on a deal to join Pep Guardiola's side, Mendy became one of the most expensive defenders in football history.
But the former Monaco man's Premier League journey almost started four years ago... with Sunderland.

The Black Cats struck a deal with Mendy's former club Le Harve back in 2013, with only personal terms needed to be agreed with the player in order for a transfer to materialise.
