Paddy McNair's late own goal was enough for Pep Guardiola to claim a debut win as Manchester City head coach against Sunderland.
Jermain Defoe had earlier cancelled out Sergio Aguero's opener, before the summer signing was substituted on and put past his own goalkeeper just minutes later to hand the hosts a 2-1 win - and all three points in their first Premier League fixture of the season.
Sunderland started brightly, testing Willy Caballero twice in the opening moments, but it took just four minutes for the hosts to take the lead - with their first attack of the game.
